The event is part of The Global Fintech & Blockhain Conference 2019. The winners of the competition will be awarded a chance to pitch to venture capitalists for support and investment on stage of the GFBC 2019 as well as having the chance to win great prizes. The pitches will evaluated by a panel of leading venture capitalists and industry experts who have offered financial support as well as advice and valuable connections. We are expecting students and young professionals from all backgrounds to bring in exciting ideas and take them as far as possible within 24 hours. F&B 24 Hackathon is a 24-hour hackathon with a focus on the latest technological challenges in the Fintech & Blockchain space. It is open to anyone 18 and over with an interest in applying the latest technologies to real problems and making an impact. We’re looking for not only software engineers but also creative designers, business developers and scientists that want to build exciting products and make an impact.

Winning teams will be judged on concept originality, feasibility, level of development and appropriate use of Blockchain.

The winning teams will receive numerous prizes and the unique opportunity to present their concepts to top VCs and judges as well as thousands of relevant people in the field at the Global Fintech & Blockchain Conference, just the Thursday after. The potential is also there to take the concept to live prototype with our sponsors. We will be facilitating and providing technical support throughout the hackathon weekend. Can I join if I am non-technical?
Yes, we and our sponsors are looking for not only software engineers but also creative designers, business developers, strategic thinkers and scientists that want to solve real problems and come up with innovative solutions that create an impact.

What is a Hackathon?
Hackathons are essentially creativity marathons where your thoughts become things. Participants work in small teams on challenges to create a hack/solution, be it a web-app, hardware or something completely different.

Are there age requirements to enter the event?
The event is open to anyone over the age of 16 (if you are under 18, your parents will be required to sign a consent form we will send to you)

What should I bring?
All attendees must bring a valid ID. Other common checklist items include: laptops, chargers, and toiletries.

Can I join as an individual?
Yes don’t worry, a key part of the fun of a hackathon is meeting like-minded new people. We will have time at the beginning of the event for everyone to meet and form teams. If you are already working on a project, you are welcome to register as a team, taking advantage of the professional mentoring brought to you by our partners, the prizes on offer and the ability to work together for an intensive weekend full of product development, designing and researching.

Do I need loads of experience to participate?
Not at all. Whether you are a first year student, study a subject unrelated to software development, or this is your first Hackathon, you are most welcome! This is also a great opportunity to learn and gain invaluable new experience (and something you can put on your CV!)

Can I help organise the hackathon?
